Thermography: Finally a Risk Assessment for Injury, Illness & Disease

Breast Thermography of Middle TN offers full body imaging, which can identify early signs of, sports injuries, soft tissue injuries, chronic pain conditions, musculoskeletal disorders, a thyroid disorder, circulation problems, early characteristics of breast cancer and more. Opening our office has made it easier for local men and women to independently access this technology. In the case of breast Thermography, it is not a replacement for a mammogram — it is adjunctive.
Thermography is a non-invasive imaging test that shows the heat patterns emitting from the surface of the skin. Since body temperatures act as reference points and are an indication of how the body is functioning or reacting to internal changes, abnormal heat patterns can signify when something is off-center.
Physio-centered practitioners often appreciate this technology to provide an initial starring point in a treatment plan as well as its ability to show progress during the treatment plan. Chiropractors, massage therapists’, physical therapists’’ and occupational therapists’ often request bi-weekly or monthly scans as part of their progress report.
The scan is quick and easy. After your body is acclimated to a temperature controlled room for 15 minutes, pictures of the area you would like scanned are taken using an infrared camera. The images are sent to a medical doctor trained in the interpretation of Thermography. The doctor then sends back a report, explaining what the heat patterns mean and what course of action, if any, is recommended.

History... When does it actually begin?

-->
I was speaking to a new client earlier this week. She asked all the normal questions about Thermography. We discussed the normal differences between Thermography and Mammography, pros and cons of both; limitations of both, etc.
After we had spoken for a while this client told me she had a history of breast cancer in her family. That’s not unusual for me to hear. But her last statement to me is what prompted this blog. She said “I’m not accepting my family’s history…I’m choosing to start my own family history.”
That got me thinking about how often I hear the “history” sentence that most women carry around. I always talk about how much our mental state affects our physical state and by thinking positive you can often times overcome things that we deem are destiny because of the past.
Now, I am not saying that we should not be cognizant of our family medical history. What I am saying is we should take a strong look at what shaped “that history” and discover what we can do to “shape our own history”. The instances of breast cancer in a family, much like cardiac issues, lung cancer, etc., can generally be traced back to some ways to lifestyle. Lifestyles can be changed. With the technology available in nearly every home, in public libraries, schools, etc., we all have the tools at our disposal to be cognizant of the lifestyle changes WE can make to help change the medical history’s we carry around.
Most of the time when you see information about Thermography it is in reference to breast health.  Thermography or mammography, it’s all about one over the other. I disagree. I think educating everyone on the benefits and limitations of each, because they each do have their own benefits and limitations, will actually provide the information needed to help each person plan their own “health care plan”. So often the phrase “health care plan” is associated with what insurance will pay for; or a government program will provide for us. To me, a “health care plan” is what we are doing to make a difference in keeping ourselves as healthy as possible before we need medical intervention. Thermography is a good tool for that purpose. This technology is best used for early detection of a myriad of ailments. Issues such as thyroid dysfunction, immune system dysfunction, diabetes, cardiac issues, pain, infection, arthritis, etc., can all be detected in early stages and therefore “lifestyle changes” can be implemented to help either stall further symptoms or reverse the symptoms.
If you’re interested in finding out what’s going on in your body try a Thermographic scan. It’s like a report card for your body.

Thermography: Can you say "Double Take?"

I often get asked “what exactly is a cancer”?
“Cancer is a group of diseases that cause cells in the body to change and grow out of control. Most types of cancer cells eventually form a lump or mass called a tumor, and are named after the part of the body where the tumor originates.” This comes directly from The American Cancer Society.

Now that I have provided an explanation that may or may not answer the original question “what exactly is a cancer,” I would like to provide you with some information on the “cells” that make up cancer.

Cancer cells double in number on average every 90 days of their life. Given that knowledge, consider this: at 90 days of life there are 2 cells; at 2 years there are 256 cells; at 5 years there are 1,048,576 cells (this number is still undetectable by mammography); at 8 years of life there are 4,294,967,296 cells. These cells have doubled approximately 32 times to about 1cm in size and normally can be detected by traditional mammograms. I feel another number to share is this: 40 doublings, which happens over approximately 10 years is generally considered lethal.

Thermography Screening has the opportunity to detect changes at any stage in the development of cancer cells within the first year through the point when a tumor is dense enough to be seen with traditional mammography.

Thermography’s early detection of change can lead to a much earlier diagnosis and better treatment options as well as the opportunity for patients and their healthcare practitioners to intervene at an early stage with preventative treatment. I for one always opt for prevention over intervention.
If you would like additional information about Thermography and how it might apply to you specifically, or would like to schedule an appointment, please do not hesitate to call me.

THERMOGRAPHY: Undressing More than Breasts

Well, Thermography has been happily receiving its fair share of press lately! I for one am so pleased that this technology is no longer being discounted as “snake medicine."
Although there is still the perception that Thermography is new technology, take it from someone who has been familiar with it since 1990, it’s not new; it wasn’t new then. This is the same “heat sensing” technology our armed forces have been using for years; albeit fine-tuned for the healthcare industry.
For some time, the most commonly known use for Thermography was breast screening. Its early detection capabilities have been proven to capture subtle changes in breast tissue far earlier than traditional screening mechanisms; thus creating an opportunity for earlier, more holistic approaches towards intervention. But did you know Thermography works the same throughout the body? Thermography can do for your thyroid, carotid artery, liver, etc., what it can for breasts; detect subtle changes that arise, thus identifying an issue and encouraging more clinical correlation at a much earlier stage.
Now, I am not saying that Thermography detects “cancer.” What I am saying is that Thermography does detect the subtle changes that “accompany” cancer growth within our tissues. Cancer is a fickle and tricky cell. What we do know is cancer cells have 3 basic characteristic:
1. They multiply more rapidly than normal cells
2. They are less differentiated
3. They don’t die when they are supposed to
There are many factors either contributing to, or helping to prevent, this chain of events in the life of a cancer cell. Some of it is driven by heredity, some by lifestyle.

I’ve explained several times in my other blogs what Thermography is, but I’m going to break it down once again. Thermography is a 15-minute, non-invasive test designed to improve detection of breast disease, as well as other physiological ailments throughout the body. There is no contact with the body of any kind, no radiation, and the procedure is painless. It uses Thermography, a process of infrared technology to spot abnormalities throughout your body by measuring temperature variations. Thermography can be performed on your entire body, I like to call it “A Report Card for Your Body”; or on any one specific region such as breasts, head, upper/lower body, etc.

If you would like additional information about Thermography and how it might apply to you specifically, or would like to schedule an appointment, please do not hesitate to call me.

EMF's: How to Neutralize Them

Dr. Joseph Mercola and his think tank of health global experts say that EMF’s are the #1 health threat today…worse than nutrition, viruses, drugs, and a host of other health problems.
Electro Magnetic Frequencies (EMF’s) are the by-product of ALL those electronic devices we may, or may not admit we’re addicted to. Most of us, who CLAIM we are not slaves to our technologies, are being fooled. Just about everyone is exposed, by design or accident to EMF’s.
Our portable phone, cellular phones, computer monitors, flat screen televisions, even the dash boards of our cars are electronic now and therefore put off EMF’s. These devices emit positive ions. This is one time where “positive” is negative thing and “negative” is positive thing. Emission of EMF’s has many short term and long term negative health aspects.  Obviously I cannot possibly describe in detail all the risks but I will outline a few.

Short term exposure has been linked to:
       Memory Loss
       Depression
       Loss of Energy
       Irritability
       Inability To Concentrate
       Weakened Immune System
       Chronic Fatigue
       Headaches
       Tiredness

Long term exposure has been linked to
       Heart disease
       Cancer
       Leukemia
       Brain tumor
       Alzheimer's disease
       Parkinson's disease
       Depression and suicide
       Fatigue, Asthma

Here’s the good news, the use of Natural gems and stones, precious metals, man-made protective devices can greatly neutralize these harmful EMF’s. The use of crystals and gemstones has been recorded in almost every ancient civilization as a form of healing and changing consciousness. Throughout history preparations made from gem elixirs or gems have been used not only in India and Tibet, but also in Arabic countries and Europe.  Native Americans also used the science of gem therapy long before the Europeans arrived here.
So ladies (and gentlemen), the good news is, the BIGGER the DIAMONDS (amongst other stones), the better protection you have against EMF’s. I will write more on gem therapies in a future blogs!

Party Your Way to Health!

I’ve explained several times in my presentations, advertisements and in blogs what Thermography is, but I’m going to break it down once again. Thermography is a 15-minute, non-invasive test designed to improve detection of breast disease, as well as other physiological ailments throughout the body. There is no contact with the body of any kind, no radiation, and the procedure is painless. It uses Thermography, a process of infrared technology to spot abnormalities throughout your body by measuring temperature variations. Thermography can be performed on your entire body, or on any one specific region such as breasts, head, upper/lower body, etc. I like to call it “A Report Card for Your Body”;

One of the most inventive ways of getting word out there about Thermography, and its benefits is the use of Home Parties. I have been working with hostesses a lot to bring awareness to their friends and family through the hosting of Thermography Parties in their home. It just makes sense that we all enjoy getting together to shop for crystal, make-up, candles, storage-ware; it made me ask the question: “Why not provide something we actually NEED to our friends and family by hosting a Thermography Party in your home?” We all spend money on many things we “want” and not necessarily “need”. As we all know, most of the time we’re spending money at these parties on things that we will give-away to others. Why not provide ourselves with a gift of peace of mind? This concept allows a group of people to get the educational information they need about Thermography, and the opportunity to experience it right on the spot. All you need is minimum of 5 participants; 15 minutes to provide the information to the group; and 15-minutes per scan. That’s it!

If you would like additional information about booking a Thermography Party in your home, or would like to schedule an appointment, please do not hesitate to call me.

THERMOGRAPHY: It’s not just for breasts anymore!

Although many who are learning about Thermography are doing so for their own breast health; the truth is Thermography is beneficial for the whole body. Whether you are having chronic headaches; belly pain; leg pain or hammer toe, Thermography can be used on one small individual area, to larger areas such as your half-body to your entire body from the bottom of your feet to the top of your head.  If you’re bald that is, after all, our equipment doesn’t have x-ray vision…remember, we don’t use radiation!
Thermography is a highly effective tool for detecting and monitoring a number of diseases and physical injuries by showing the thermal abnormalities present in the body.
If you’ve got a pain; we’ll get a picture of it! Thermography is the ONLY method available for visualizing your pain.
Throughout your body, Thermography is used for diagnosis and prognosis, as well as monitoring therapy progress for conditions and injuries. A “few” of the condition Thermography can be used to identify: arthritis, diabetes potential, stroke potential, nerve damage, vascular disease, fibromyalgia, skin cancer, and many more. Whether your pain is acute or chronic, Thermography can help you and your healthcare professional find the best course of treatment; then follow the results!
The number of men who are receiving full-body thermography in my clinic is growing every month. This is exciting news. Whether these men are coming voluntarily or at the insistence of the women in their lives really doesn’t matter. What matters is Thermography is becoming valuable on a broad basis across the sexes.
